How’s Your Health?
Are You Ready For A Change?
Part 1
Focused and Consistent??
Well you have me there, so much has happened the last month or so. I have been very distracted due to my husband, Jim’s Health issues. This Blog and many other things had to take a back seat.
The past few years, Jim has had High Blood Pressure issues, Heart Attacks, Stints put into his heart, Diabetes, Gout, lost two toes to an infection, and lots of Prostate issues. Then we got the word he had Prostate Cancer. Wow. As he is 81, the Doctors didn’t want to do surgery, so they put him on a 45 radiation treatment series. That meant we had to go to the clinic every day for his radiation treatment.
Talk about Health Issues….we had em.
Well, 30 days into it, so far so good. Then he started having pain when he urinated and he really couldn’t empty his bladder. Then it turned into a raging bladder infection. They started with all their tricks to clear it up, but it finally ended up with us in the Emergency Room. They tested him and found really serious infections. They catherized him, gave him strong antibiotics and sent him home. That was no fun, let me tell you.
They stopped his Radiation Treatments until his infection cleared up. Then Jim wanted to continue, so they did. He made it until the last 7 treatments. When I spilled the beans to the Dr. that he was burning again. He didn’t want them to know, because he wanted to be tough and finish with the radiation. The Oncologist was quick to stop everything. No more Radiation.
We went home, and Jim kept taking antibiotics, but not getting better. A urine culture said his bladder wasn’t infected. It was just a radiation burn or irritation causing all the pain. So officially they called his treatments finished. They stopped the antibiotics, as that wouldn’t help with the burning. He would just have to heal up. We won’t know for some time whether the radiation killed the cancer or not. Just have to wait and see.
To say the least, we were really tired of all this mess with Doctors and all their tricks. Jim’s Health was going down.
Jim was in so much pain and not able to rest. I was so worried about him, but just didn’t know what to do. Pray I did.
Jim is a fighter and tough, but he was really getting worn down. He was just dragging around, no ambition, no drive, just eat, sleep, hurt, sit on the couch. For most men 81 year old, that might not be too alarming, but you would have to know Jim. His Dad lived to 97 and got around better than Jim was doing. Until recently, Jim was strong, energetic, and a worker. This was not looking good.
A Canadian online friend of ours, suggested we try some Prostate Tea. He said to check on Bell’s website and find out where to get it in our area. So that is what I did. Found it at a place about 30 minutes from here. So, we drove up there about a month ago to purchase it, but they were out. We would have to wait a few days for it to come in. We were disappointed, but the drive
up to that awesomely beautiful Tennessee area was worth the trip. What a place, we didn’t want to go home.
We met the owners, Dr. Julie and Gary Montgomery. The place was the Holistic Therapy Center. http://www.Dragonflytraining.com Check it out. We spent some time with them, discussing Jim’s health challenges and all that had happened to Jim.
Dr. Julie, educated us and explained how many men were flying in there to get treatment for many conditions, many being Prostate Cancer. Their lives were being changed. There Health was being restored.
She explained about why people are getting so sick today and what needed to change to get their health back. Modern Medicine was all about treating symptoms, not preventing them. Jim was on 4 meds for High Blood Pressure, one med for Diabetes and Insulin shots, and various other pills for Heart etc. We looked like a pharmacy on our dining table. No wonder he didn’t feel good with all the side effects of so many medicines.!!!!
Another thing was the way we ate. Lots of fast food restaurants, and other restaurants. We ate out alot. Also, when we did stay home and cooked, what we ate wasn’t healthy.
Dr. Julie explained about Alkaline vs Acidic. Our systems were extremely acidic.
Great Health News: Cancer and Illness cannot survive in a Alkaline System.
Our systems were just inviting disaster.
Stay Tuned for Part 2 of our Journey back to Health.

Thanks for stopping by. More and More I am convinced that our health is in direct relation to how and what we eat.

Great stuff Kathy! We really need to watch what we eat! Hard to find anything that hasn’t been polluted by man’s drive to “Make Things Better” through using Growth Hormones, or additives that no one took the time to see what the long term effects on the human body would be. All they could think of is make it bigger and make it bigger faster.
Chickens are a perfect example. It used to be you would raise a chicken for two to three months before they would be ready to butcher, now with the additives in the feed, they can be ready in as little as four to six weeks.
Can hardly wait for Part 2 as well!

Hi Mark, thanks for the comments. You are so right, our food, water, and air is so polluted, that we must take care to read labels, buy organic or raise your own. It is worth it. Our Health is everything. Also having healthy attitudes, and an attitude of Gratitude is important to our well-being.

It makes me weep to hear how your husband had to suffer so. It is so sad that “modern” medicine is so harsh and ineffectual. However, having read Part 2 first, I am excited for you at the changes your rather drastic situation has generated!

Yes, it is sad what he had to go thru and so many others are going through. We need to get the word out to as many as possible that there is a better way to live and stay healthy.
